Prohibited Items Policy
Version 1.0 | Draft for launch
Niuzie is a classifieds marketplace operated by Niuzie Solutions in Kenya. This policy identifies goods and activities that are not permitted on the platform.
All sellers must comply with this policy, Niuzie's Terms of Service and applicable law. An item is not automatically permitted merely because it is not specifically named below.
1. Alcohol and Tobacco
All alcoholic beverages and tobacco products are prohibited on Niuzie, whether new, used, sealed, opened, donated or offered for exchange.
This includes beer, wine, spirits, cigarettes, cigars, vaping products, e-cigarettes and nicotine products.
2. Weapons and Ammunition
Firearms, ammunition, explosives, prohibited weapons and their restricted components or accessories may not be advertised.
3. Drugs and Medicines
Illegal drugs, controlled substances, prescription medicines and unlawfully supplied medical products are prohibited.
4. Stolen and Counterfeit Goods
Stolen property, counterfeit merchandise, pirated goods, forged documents and items that infringe another person's intellectual property rights may not be listed.
5. Hazardous Materials
Dangerous chemicals, toxic substances, explosive materials, radioactive materials and other hazardous products that cannot lawfully or safely be traded through the marketplace are prohibited.
6. Wildlife and Protected Species
Wildlife, wildlife products, endangered species and protected plants or animal products may not be advertised where their sale or transfer is unlawful.
7. Explicit Adult Content
Pornographic materials, explicit sexual content and products or services involving sexual exploitation are prohibited.
8. Fraudulent or Misleading Listings
Users must not advertise:
- Items they do not own or have authority to sell.
- Goods using stolen or misleading photographs.
- Fake products presented as genuine.
- Goods with deliberately concealed defects.
- Non-existent items intended to obtain money fraudulently.
- Listings designed to impersonate or deceive other users.
9. Other Restricted Goods
Niuzie may reject goods that require licences, approvals or special handling where the platform cannot reasonably verify that the proposed transaction is lawful and safe.
Goods or services prohibited by Kenyan law are not permitted, even if not expressly mentioned in this policy.
10. Enforcement
Niuzie may review, reject, remove or restrict listings that violate this policy or create significant legal, fraud or safety concerns.
Serious or repeated violations may result in account suspension or termination. Where required or permitted by law, relevant information may be disclosed to appropriate authorities.
Removal of a successfully published listing does not automatically entitle a seller to a refund, subject to applicable law and Niuzie's Terms of Service.
11. Reporting Prohibited Listings
If you find a prohibited or suspicious advertisement, use the Report feature where available or contact info@niuzie.co.ke .
Include the listing link and a brief explanation of your concern. Do not put yourself at risk when investigating suspicious goods.
12. Policy Updates
Niuzie may update this policy as marketplace risks, services or legal requirements change. Material changes may require users to accept an updated policy version.
This is a launch draft and should be reviewed for legal suitability before public release.
